Polphenylene Oxide, or PPO, is based on polyphenylene ether (PPE). PPE, a high-heat amorphous polymer, forms a miscible, single-phase blend with polystyrene. This technology, in combination with other additives, provides a material covering a wide range of physical and thermo mechanical properties.
General characteristics of PPO include high heat resistance, excellent electrical properties, hydrolytic stability, dimensional stability, low mold shrinkage and very low creep behavior at elevated temperatures.
